Psychotherapy Profession in Quebec

It is my position that the community of psychotherapy professionals in Quebec should be given an opportunity to provide optimal life-changing treatments to the persons entering psychotherapy. This would be best accomplished when the community is united in building, affirming and securing the value of our vocation.  Regardless of education, specialized expertise and theoretical leanings, let us stand together, all of the persons who practice psychotherapy professionally in Quebec. (The persons who practice psychotherapy in Quebec come from various backgrounds: they could have begun their work as social workers, couple and family therapists, doctors, psychologists, vocational counsellors, psychoeducators, criminologist, occupational therapists, sexologists or other.)  Investing in the work and art of psychotherapy, therapy education and funding is necessary. United, we can best assist our policy makers to make a precious investment in the accessibility of psychotherapy services to everyone.
